Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi has visited Bangladesh on the 6th & 7th of June 2015. One of the important outcomes of the visit was the ratification and exchange of documents to finally implement the 1974 Land Boundary Agreement.
Around 20 agreements and MoUs were signed during the visit, including agreements and MoUs related to economic zones for Indian investors in Bangladesh, mega power projects, coastal shipping, energy cooperation, renewed bilateral trade, inland water transit and trade, and prevention of human trafficking.
During the visit, both sides assured that their territories would not be allowed to be used for operations against the other.
The main attraction of the visit was Narendra Modi’s announcement of a line of credit worth 2 (two) billion dollars for Bangladesh.
